Customized Training Services from Online Authority
Kelly Kubrick, owner of consulting firm Online Authority, develops customized training content for her clients. Former director of eCommerce Development for Time Warner’s publishing division, Kelly excels at demystifying the Internet for non-technical audiences.
In her past corporate life, Kelly regularly taught her ‘traditional’ marketing, advertising and publishing colleagues about online customer service, email and web marketing. Today, she continues to do exactly that – by developing and delivering training content customized to specific industries and sectors.
Why would we need customized Internet training?
Most companies and organizations today recognize that the web has shouldered its way into all of our lives and jobs. In fact, it seems to be disrupting everything – job descriptions, mandates, sales channels, marketing plans – nothing goes untouched. It moves frighteningly fast; every time you turn around, there’s a new tool or technology to consider. Yet the availability of online tools can be a double-edged sword – a profusion offering overwhelming opportunity.
However, if you sit still for a moment, and listen to what your employees, partners, suppliers or association members are venting about, you’ll hear a faint echo of eagerness. Of curiosity. Of a desire to learn about it for themselves.
That’s where Online Authority comes in. We’ve heard that echo in a lot of different offices ourselves, and have helped our clients to inform, educate and entertain their particular audiences with content customized to their audience’s needs. We use your language, your lingo and examples that resonate with your audience.
What are some examples of custom web training?
- Part of the mandate of the Canadian Manufactured Housing Institute (CMHI) is to help people in the construction industry increase their knowledge, professionalism and ability to provide a superior home buying experience to their customers. CMHI asked Online Authority to develop and teach a workshop for its Manufactured Housing Consultants (MHC)® accreditation program. The result? Get the Electronic Edge! was developed and is now included in CMHI’s industry education efforts.
- The Canadian Association of Special Libraries and Information Services (CASLIS) provides professional development and education to its membership. CASLIS asked Online Authority to develop and teach a workshop to help librarians prove their website allowed them to provide service to clients. Entitled Prepare to Defend Your(site)!, this workshop was delivered to librians in five cities across Canada.
- RGD Ontario, or the Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario, wanted help its members understand why and how to design search engine friendly websites for their clients. They asked Online Authority to develop and teach a session for their upcoming annual conference – and Your Site Ain’t Pretty…It Just Looks That Way was born.
