Web Writing (or Introducing Website Findability)

Web Writing (or Introducing Website Findability) Course Description

As consumers, we are ruthless in our demand for current and comprehensive website content. We give no quarter to organizations with stale, outdated web pages. Yet, as those responsible for our organization’s website, managing the overall web presence is enough of a challenge, let alone finding time to write compelling, relevant content on a regular basis.

Today’s web teams recognize that the better approach is to harness the writing expertise of their marketing and communications colleagues. Yet, those same colleagues may not be familiar enough with the unique challenges of writing for the online channel nor understand  how to adjust traditional writing styles for the web, social and mobile media.

This course will help your organization bridge the gap by outlining the differences between the online vs. traditional writing styles,  provides specific strategies to addresses the challenges that result, and most importantly, takes marketing and communications (vs. technical) perspective.

What You Will Learn About Writing For the Web

In this half day session, we’ll ensure that we provide concrete your authors with concrete information and instructions. We’ll provide:

  • Proof about why writing for the web is truly different than writing for print
  • Recommended four specific strategies about how writers can easily – and immediately – adjust writing styles
  • An introduction to “Increasing Website Findability”, a non-technical overview about ensuring their content gets found online
  • A brief, hands-on workshop showing writers how to identify page-specific opportunities to improve web writing
